The Wayne County Drug and Treatment Court Program represents a comprehensive effort focusing on non-violent offenders to combat substance abuse and its associated criminal activity. The Drug and Treatment Court Program, in recognizing the disease of addiction, provides a highly structured treatment program to an abuser in crisis while ensuring public safety. Since its inception in 2017, the program has had 30 participants successfully complete the program. Here is what some of those participants have to say about Drug and Treatment Court:
“To me it’s an opportunity to completely turn your life around, make goals and accomplish them, pursue your career and earn the trust and respect back of your family and home town. Everyone involved in Drug Court has done everything in their power to help me succeed to keep pushing forward in life and not give up on my goals. I am honestly grateful for everything they have done and hope they continue to keep helping others like me succeed.”
“With a lot of dedication and the endless support myself and many others have received from Wayne County, recovery has been made possible for us. I know that even when I graduate treatment court, I will always have their support. Thank you Wayne County Treatment Court!”
“Drug court has truly given me my life. An unforeseen necessity that not only saved my life but blessed me with an ability to start over and actually live life. In doing so, I’m able to love, laugh, and live life. Before this program I was just lucky to be alive. Now I’m blessed to be living a new life.”
It is the mission of the Wayne County Drug and Treatment Court to promote the safety and welfare of our community by providing treatment and recovery opportunities to drug offenders who fully accept responsibility for their actions, for their addiction, and who are willing to voluntarily commit themselves to comprehensive drug treatment and an ongoing program of recovery.
