America 250 Semiquincentennial Celebration is coming to Hawley!
On Friday, February 2, 2024, it was officially announced that our area has been chosen to be part of the America250 celebration, a momentous occasion that aims to commemorate the rich history and contributions of communities across the nation as part of America’s 250th anniversary in 2026.
As we gear up for this historic celebration, we are embarking on a special project that holds great significance for the Wayne County region and its role in the growth of Pennsylvania and America. We are planning to install a replica of the Liberty Bell at the iconic Bellemonte Silk Mill (now the Hawley Silk Mill), and we believe that your support could play a crucial role in making this vision a reality.
The funds raised will be used to create and promote this national place of prominence to strengthen and enrich the lives of all the people who live in and visit Wayne Co. The Bell dedication is currently scheduled for October 2024.

The Liberty Bell installation at Hawley Silk Mill will serve as a symbol of the enduring spirit and contributions of the Wayne County region to the fabric of our nation. This project not only honors the past but also provides a lasting legacy for future generations to appreciate and cherish. The Bell is a replica of the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. The official dedication of the Bell is scheduled for October 2024 and will live in perpetuity as a reminder of the important contributions NEPA has made to the success of America.
